Opportunity:

RN - Cardiac Tele

Job Details:

• Night shift position, 36 hours per week only
• Contract length of 13–26 weeks accepted
• Patient ratios vary per acuity: 1:4 for surgical step down, 1:5–6 for lower acuity
• Weekend requirement: 4 shifts per 4 weeks (flexible)
• Float requirement: will follow unit rotation and is not first to float
• Minimum 2 years of experience on a cardiac floor required
• Travel experience required unless candidate has more than 24 months of cardiac experience
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Every candidate will be interviewed prior to placement
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: Cardiac Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, Sheath Removal, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Post MI, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Manage Cardiac drips (no titration), Titrate Cardiac drips, Chest tubes (Emerson/Pleuravac), External CPAP/BiPAP, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management
• Preferred skills: Arterial line management, Wound Care/Wound Vac, and Charge Experience
• Special equipment used: Arterial lines, Doppler, Bladder scanner, EKG, Femoral sheaths, TR Band, Fem-stop, Chest tubes, Epicardial Pacing Wires
• Documentation systems: Pyxis, Epic, SBAR
• Scrubs: Navy
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Contract staff may be assigned to a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Patient diagnoses include: Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, Aortic stenosis/regurgitation, Mitral Regurgitation/Stenosis, Endocarditis, Cardiomyopathy, PVD, PAD, Vasculitis, Carotid stenosis, and Venous stasis
• Special procedures include: CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO (Watchman procedure), VATS, Carotid endarterectomy, FEM-POP bypass, Amputations, Cardiac surgeries, Thoracic surgeries, Post cath, Post DCCV, Post electrophysiology procedures, and Pacemaker placements
• Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and more
