Telemetry RN Job in Wilmington, NC

You will work as a Registered Nurse in a combination medical-surgical and surgical stepdown unit at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center. This role involves 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, four days per week. The assignment is 91 days, beginning November 2, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,470.

Unit Details

• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Every other weekend required
• No call required
• Float required as needed within or near the facility
• Charting via Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR documentation

Patient Population and Procedures

You will care for adult patients with diagnoses including cellulitis, appendicitis, cholecystitis, diverticulitis, motor vehicle accidents, gunshot wounds, stabbings, falls, various cancers, kidney stones, bowel obstruction, peripheral vascular disease, limb ischemia, hernia, and gangrene. Procedures include cholecystectomy, appendectomy, hernia repair, TURP, ostomy creation or closure, wound debridement, tumor removal, kidney stone removal, amputations, and fem pop bypass.

Required Skills and Equipment Proficiency

• BiPAP/CPAP management
• Blood product administration
• Central line care and management
• Chest tube management and wound vacs
• Feeding tube care with NG tube/Corpak
• Heparin protocols and high-flow nasal cannula
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• PCA, peripheral, and PICC line management
• IV insertion and maintenance
• Surgical drains including JP, Hemovac, and Penrose
• Rapid response and code team participation
• Wound care and infection control

Requirements

• Current BLS certification
• EKG testing prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; first-time travelers with experience considered
• All navy or navy bottoms with white top
• Contract staff assigned to Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team; may be required to report during catastrophic events or mass casualty incidents

Preferred Qualifications

• Trauma Level II experience
• Previous charge nurse experience
• Epic charting system experience
