ED RN Job in Omaha, NE

You are a Registered Nurse ready to work in a fast-paced Level I Trauma Center emergency department. CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy is seeking an RN for a 91-day travel assignment starting September 14, 2026.

Position Details

• Work 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week at $2,382 weekly
• Shift options include 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, 9:00 AM–9:00 PM, 11:00 AM–11:00 PM, 3:00 PM–3:00 AM, or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, scheduled by department leadership based on operational needs
• Weekend and holiday requirements determined by department needs
• Float to the OBS unit and Freestanding Creighton ER at least once per week

Clinical Expectations

• Work with common diagnoses including trauma, sepsis, chest pain, shortness of breath, and strokes
• Manage patient ratios of 1:4 in zones, 1:6 in Fast Track, 1:5 in OBS, and 1:1 in ICU/Trauma
• Administer all common drips typical of Level I trauma emergency departments
• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Chart using the EPIC system
• Recent Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience is required

Required Credentials and Qualifications

• Current RN license
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required (NRP preferred)
• Valid driver's license at submittal for 50-mile radius verification
• Must pass a Friday orientation exam with a 90% passing score

Orientation

• Complete one week of onboarding
• Work two shifts at Bergan and one shift at UC during orientation

Important Policies

• Artificial nails are prohibited; refusal to remove them will result in contract termination
• You cannot be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit facility within 50 miles during your assignment
