Respiratory Therapist Job in Hilo, HI

Hilo Medical Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 15-week travel assignment. You will work three 12-hour day shifts per week from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, providing comprehensive respiratory care across adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Manage continuous airway support and ventilator care for patients
• Operate and monitor non-invasive ventilation systems
• Assist physicians with respiratory consultations and CPR
• Perform all aspects of respiratory care including equipment setup and patient assessment
• Use computerized charting and Pyxis medication management systems
• Operate PB 980 and PB 840 ventilators, V60, and Para Pac transport ventilators

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Active State of Hawaii respiratory therapist license required by assignment start date
• Current RRT credential
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS certification required (NRP preferred)
• Not available for first assignments

This position offers a weekly pay rate of $2,423 with no guaranteed hours. The assignment begins October 26, 2026, and runs for 105 days. Candidates with an active Hawaii license or those who have already submitted their application for licensure will be prioritized for consideration.
