Med Surg RN Job in Saint Louis, MO

You'll work nights on an 18-bed Med Surg Orthopedic unit at Mercy Hospital St Louis, providing direct patient care for post-surgical patients with an emphasis on orthopedic procedures. This is a 13- to 26-week travel assignment with a start date of October 26, 2026.

Shift and Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 4 days per week (12-hour shifts)
• 48 guaranteed weekly hours (36 hours available at your request)
• Every other full weekend required (Saturday and Sunday unless otherwise approved)
• No on-call requirements
• Up to 5 days of requested time off per 13-week period can be automatically approved
• Plan to work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day)
• Night shift orients on day shift; you must be available the entire week for orientation
• Block scheduling accommodated whenever possible based on unit needs but never guaranteed

Responsibilities

• Float throughout the Med Surg unit as needed
• Perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments
• Manage all cardiac drips and operate an EKG machine
• Work with standard nursing equipment on a Med Surg Orthopedic unit

Requirements

• 1+ years of inpatient hospital experience
• Current RN license; must meet criteria for Missouri licensure or be currently licensed in Missouri
• BLS certification required
• EPIC EMR experience highly preferred

Compensation and Logistics

You'll earn $2,281 weekly. Scrub color is black. The unit is currently undergoing expansion, so you'll be part of a growing team.
