NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care

RN - NICU

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• On-call required occasionally
• Float required to Mother/Baby and Postpartum units
• Every other weekend required with 7 weekend shifts per 13-week contract
• Patient ratio of 1:3 for days, nights, and weekends
• Experience in Level II or III NICU required, including attending deliveries and neonatal resuscitation
• Mother/Baby couplet care experience required
• Postpartum experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Stabilize and manage infants at Level II NICU level (34 weeks and above) including CPAP, UVC/UAC lines, nasal cannula, IV therapy, antibiotics, blood transfusions, and gavage feedings
• Stabilize and manage patients for transfer to higher level of care including intubation, surfactant, umbilical line placement, and passive brain cooling
• Operate specialized equipment including CPAP, infant ventilator, nasal cannula, Alaris and ICU Medical IV pumps, Medela breast pump, breast milk warmer, and Draeger infant warmer
• Care for patients with diagnoses including hypoglycemia, prematurity over 34 weeks, drug withdrawal, rule-out sepsis, respiratory distress, and hyperbilirubinemia
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE
• Valid California RN license required
