Med Surg Oncology RN Job in Albany, GA

You'll work as an RN on a 29-bed oncology unit at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA. This is a 119-day travel assignment starting September 7, 2026, with 3x12-hour day shifts (6:45 AM to 7:15 PM). You'll earn $2,070 weekly.

Unit Details

• 7th-floor oncology unit where you'll work exclusively on the floor
• Patient ratios of 1:5, occasionally 1:6
• Three nurse aides available daily
• Charge nurse provided from staffing grid except in unusual circumstances
• Central telemetry monitoring available—you won't be required to read strips
• Rare floating, primarily to the medical acute unit
• 3-day floor-specific orientation

Patient Population

You'll care for patients with acute oncology symptoms, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, sickle cell crisis, hematology conditions, medical overflow, oncology, and end-of-life care. Outpatient area patients may come to the floor to finish treatment if running late.

Scheduling & Requirements

• Every other weekend requirement
• Rotate holidays with staff
• MEDITECH charting system
• Caribbean Blue scrubs
• Must reside within 75 miles of facility per driver's license address

Experience & Credentials

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience with at least 1 travel assignment (no first-time travelers)
• If administering chemotherapy: 2 years of experience in specialty
• Required: BLS (AHA)
• NIHSS preferred
• ONS required if administering chemotherapy
• BSN not required
