PCU RN Job in Thornton, CO

HCA HealthONE Mountain Ridge is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Progressive Care Unit. This is a 91-day travel assignment running from September 9, 2026, at $1,822 per week.

Role Overview

You will work three 12-hour day shifts per week, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, on a 24-bed Progressive Care Unit located on the 2nd floor. With a patient ratio of 5:1, you will provide direct care to post-operative and complex medical patients. Day shift staffing includes a charge nurse, 4–5 RNs, and 2–3 PCTs, supporting a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform post-operative recovery care for surgical and cath lab patients
• Care for post-op orthopedic patients, including those recovering from spine and joint procedures
• Manage diverse patient populations: elective orthopedic and spine cases, gynecological surgeries, elective cath lab procedures, stroke, CIWA, chest pain, renal failure, and respiratory failure patients
• Administer set-rate cardiac drips, with heparin titration as appropriate
• Utilize telemonitoring and post-operative monitoring equipment
• Document and communicate using the Meditech/CPN electronic health record system

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum 1 year of current hospital PCU experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications required
• Cardiac experience preferred
• Prior Meditech experience preferred
