PCU RN Job in Centennial, CO

You will work as a Registered Nurse in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) float pool position across multiple facilities in the Centennial area. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting September 21, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,376.

Role and Schedule

• Day shift: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• 6–9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• May be asked to participate in holiday rotation and rare call or standby for low census situations
• Schedules released 4–6 weeks in advance; facility assignments may be released just-in-time, 1–2 hours before shift start

Facility and Float Coverage

• Float position covering Zone 1 facilities within a 60-mile radius, including Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Medical Center, St. Francis InterQuest, St. Mary Corwin, and St. Thomas More
• Float across multiple PCU and IMC units covering General, Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Observation specialties
• May float into other acuity levels including ICU (low acuity holds), PCU/Stepdown, and Med-Surg Telemetry
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3–4 depending on acuity
• Nurse aides available on unit

Clinical Details

• Common patient populations include adults and geriatrics with cardiac, neuro, ortho, oncology, renal, urology, general surgery, gynecology, psych/detox, ENT, and general medicine diagnoses
• Responsibilities include titrating and managing cardiac drips including dopamine, dobutamine, cardizem, amiodarone, ativan, insulin, and heparin
• RT equipment in use includes ventilators, CPAP, and BiPap
• Charting system: Epic

Requirements and Expectations

• Minimum 2 years of PCU or IMC experience required
• Prior neuro experience preferred
• Epic experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• 1–2 days of orientation with a preceptor provided
• Must not miss more than 3 shifts in the 13-week contract period
• All time-off requests must be submitted before the assignment begins
• Any scrub color permitted
