Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele Float Pool

Job Details:

• Float pool position covering four units: Cardiac Telemetry, two Medical/Surgical Telemetry units, and Surgical Telemetry
• Unit sizes range from 19 to 34 beds depending on assignment
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4, 1:5, or 1:6 depending on patient acuity and unit needs
• Patient population includes adult and geriatric patients
• No on-call requirements
• Required scrub color: Navy Blue
• 2 years of nursing experience required; travel experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Provide high-quality patient care across Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units while floating to multiple units as needed
• Manage patients with common diagnoses including pneumonia, stroke, sepsis, and congestive heart failure
• Experience with airway and respiratory management including CPAP/BiPAP and tracheostomy care
• Perform cardiac monitoring, telemetry interpretation, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Administer blood and blood products
• Manage equipment including feeding tubes, PCA pumps, PICC lines, central lines, surgical drains, and wound vac therapy
• Experience with titrated IV medications including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Milrinone, and Nitroglycerin
• Experience with stable drips including Amiodarone and Heparin
• Care for post-operative patients including bariatric surgery and Aquablation procedure patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Certified Nursing Assistant support
• Experience with orthopedic, stroke, and cardiac patient management required
