PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Opportunity:

RN - PACU

Job Details:

• Work 4 days per week with 10-hour shifts
• Full-time position
• Practice independently in a PACU/perioperative clinical setting
• Provide routine and complex nursing care for assigned patients
• Utilize the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols and monitor for side effects and effectiveness
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
• 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred
• Perioperative RN Residency or recent experience in an OR/Perioperative setting preferred
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA only), ACLS (AHA only), PALS (AHA only)
• RN License in the state of TX or compact license required
• Must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire
• Must complete designated organizational entry competency validation and Perioperative Department-specific competency validation
• Must complete all annual competency verification requirements
