PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• 4x10 shift schedule with rotating day off
• No on-call requirements
• 2:1 patient ratio
• Must have strong PACU experience, critical thinking skills, and ability to care for the majority of surgical cases in the unit
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Travel experience required
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Deliver post-operative care to surgical, endoscopy, and radiology patients
• Work across PACU Phase I and Phase II recovery units
• Recover all surgical and endoscopy procedure patients in the PACU unit (CABG patients go directly to ICU for recovery)
• Care for patient age groups including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Key skills required include airway assessment, dysrhythmia recognition and management, arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, pain assessment and management, PCA pump management, IV vasopressors, malignant hyperthermia protocol, nerve blocks, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, and management of pediatric patients
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services
