Med Surg RN Job in St Johnsbury, VT

Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital is seeking a registered nurse for night shift work on a medical-surgical unit in St Johnsbury, Vermont. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of October 14, 2026, paying $2,215 per week for 3x12-hour night shifts.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical and surgical care on a general Med/Surg unit primarily serving adult patients, with occasional pediatric patients
• Deliver holistic nursing care addressing patients' age, physiological, spiritual, psychosocial, and developmental needs
• Coordinate care utilizing the Nursing Process to make critical clinical decisions
• Collaborate with the Clinical Nurse Lead and Nursing Supervisor during your shifts
• Support outpatient, observation, swing bed, and pediatric care functions as needed

Requirements

• Current Vermont RN licensure or multi-state RN licensure
• Minimum 3 years of acute care experience
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• ACLS certification
• Meditech experience preferred
• Reliable personal transportation essential—public transportation and rideshare services are not available in the area

Assignment Details

This is not a pediatric-only floor. If you specialize exclusively in pediatric nursing, this role is not the right fit. Travelers begin on Wednesdays. During orientation week, those on a 48-hour contract are guaranteed 36 hours due to the midweek start date.
