Telemetry RN Job in Austin, TX

You'll join South Austin Hospital's neuro medical/surgical telemetry unit as a registered nurse on a 13-week contract. This is a night shift role working 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week.

Your Unit and Team

The telemetry unit has 30 beds and operates without on-call requirements. Your night shift team includes one charge nurse coordinator, three RNs, three LVNs, and three patient care technicians. You'll manage a patient ratio of 1:5.

Clinical Responsibilities

You'll perform typical nursing duties including stroke NIH assessments, EEGs, gastric decompression, and wound care. The unit uses Meditech as its electronic health record system and equipment including Welch Allyn vital signs monitors, computers on wheels, Hoyer lifts, PCA pumps, CareView Virtual Sitter, Telepsych, and Teleneuro systems.

Certifications and Requirements

BLS and NIH certifications are required. ACLS certification is preferred. You must be team-oriented and self-motivated. Navy scrubs are required; hoop nose piercings are not permitted. The unit will provide a packet of information on your start date.

Contract Details

This assignment begins August 3, 2026, and runs for 91 days. You'll work four weekend shifts as scheduled. Weekly pay is $1,522.
