ED RN Job in Redding, CA

Mercy Medical Center Redding is seeking an RN for a 91-day travel assignment in the Emergency Room. You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week with start times between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM. This is a high-volume, high-acuity environment that handles approximately 155 patients daily, including trauma, stroke, pediatric, and psychiatric cases.

Unit Details

• 28-bed unit with 4 fast track beds, 2 trauma bays, and hallway beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
• No floating required
• Floor-specific orientation of 2–3 shifts
• EMR system: Cerner
• Telemetry system: GE
• Scrub color: Navy

Staffing and Support

• Charge nurse available and does not take patient assignments
• EMT nurse aides available, one per shift plus a mid-shift EMT
• Hospitalist and intensivist available in-house 24/7
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7
• Pharmacy available 24/7
• No IV team on site

Scheduling

• Every other weekend requirement
• Self-scheduling by seniority with schedules made at least 2 weeks in advance
• On-call requirement of one day per month, potentially two days per month depending on call team schedule
• Work into permanent staff holiday rotation

Requirements and Certifications

• Minimum 2 years of emergency room experience
• Level II trauma experience or above required
• Ventilator experience required
• Must pass a proctored Dysrhythmia Test on day one (pass/fail)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS
• TNCC preferred
• Travel experience preferred
