Description
Opportunity:
Nuclear Medical Technician - Nuclear Med Technician
Job Details:
• No on-call responsibilities
• Weekend rotation required every 5th or 6th weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
• Minimum 2 years of nuclear medicine technologist experience required
• Registration in Nuclear Medicine with ARRT or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) required
• Required certifications: BLS, ARRT
• Perform all aspects of patient exam activities in nuclear medicine imaging to produce high quality images
• Obtain patient history, explain standard procedures, and address patient concerns to ensure patient comfort and confidence
• Operate and maintain all assigned nuclear scanning imaging equipment
• Perform diagnostic studies including measuring and preparing concentrations of radioactive isotopes in specified body areas
• Properly identify, prepare, and/or administer medications and substances within the technologist's scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner
• Complete quality assurance processes and practice radiation safety to reduce exposure to patients, staff, and self
• Comply with all Joint Commission, federal, state, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols
• Maintain all required documentation, logs, charts, forms, and records in paper and electronic formats
• Maintain adequate supply of all consumables to perform quality testing
• Perform routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks on all imaging equipment
• May assist other areas of radiology as assigned
