Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with start times of 7:00 AM or 7:00 PM (day) and 7:00 PM or 7:30 PM (night)
• Night shift schedule with every other weekend requirement (Friday and Saturday for nights)
• Holiday rotation required to distribute holidays fairly
• First to float when census is low, with standby rotation during low census periods
• Float to EC MST and Pediatric unit to care for adult MST patients, and to West Campus in Prescott to care for ICU and PCU patients with two-hour notice before floating
• Work in a Multi Care Acuity Adaptable Unit accommodating ICU, PCU, and Med-Surg patients within one unit (no floating between units for acuity levels)
• Unit consists of 10 beds with ratios depending on acuity: ICU 1:2, PCU 1:4, MST 1:5-6, or 1:3 primary care if no nurse aide available
• Common diagnoses include sepsis, suicide attempt, drug or alcohol withdrawal, COPD, respiratory arrest, pneumonia, DKA, blood pressure or heart rate abnormalities, and post-op complications
• Required to titrate drips including sedation, vasopressors, and insulin
• Must be proficient with respiratory therapy equipment including ventilators, BiPAP, and CPAP (RT support available)
• Must be able to take and read 12-lead EKGs; ICU patients monitored via bedside cardiac monitor
• Remote monitor techs available for PCU and MST patients
• Charting system: Cerner
• Scrub color requirement: Any color except camouflage
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required; will consider 1 year ICU and 1 year PCU/Med-Surg for candidates from larger facilities with strong skills
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• BSN not required
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to signing contract
• Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per contract; 3 shifts if contract is under 13 weeks
