ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Work in a 54-bed Emergency Department averaging approximately 120 patient visits per day
• Treat patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Patient ratio of 1:4-6 in the main Emergency Department
• Support 2 locked Behavioral Health units in the ED with a 1:6 patient ratio, supported by a security team
• Float between two rapid evaluation units for urgent care and critical care needs with rapid medical screenings
• Float within hospital within scope to meet facility needs
• Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) coverage required
• Holiday coverage is required during the contract period
• One pre-approved time-off request permitted per contract; must be included in contract and reviewed with manager
• Block scheduling is not available
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department experience required; may consider 2 years of Level I or Level II trauma experience
• Precepting and training experience preferred
• Charting system: Cerner with FirstNet and Launch
• Scrub color: Navy blue
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and Prophecy Relias Advanced Emergency Department assessment
• 4 hours of annual stroke continuing education units required
• CEN certification preferred
• Maryland or compact RN license required upon submission
• Community hospital experience required
• Skills required include arterial line management, blood product administration, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, triage, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, isolation precautions and PPE, and general emergency department combined adult and pediatric care
