ICU Registered Nurse Job in Castro Valley, CA

Sutter Health Eden Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 24-bed ICU serving adult and geriatric patients. You will work 3 nights per week on a 12-hour schedule for a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 13, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,627.51.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with a 1:2 patient ratio on days, nights, and weekends
• Focus on Level II Trauma ICU and Neuro/Stroke ICU patients with daily census of 18–22 patients
• Manage post-thrombectomy and TNK patients, requiring detailed neurological assessments
• Care for post-procedural and post-surgical trauma patients at medical-surgical level
• Operate specialized equipment including EVD management, ICP monitoring, massive blood transfusion protocols, and post-cardiac arrest cooling protocols
• Work every other weekend with 4 weekend shifts per month (Saturday/Sunday X2)
• May float to the ED, Step Down Unit, or Central Monitoring Department as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Rapid Response Teams

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license in California
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in Neuro ICU
• ACLS, BLS, NIH, and TNCC certifications (TNCC preferred); all AHA certifications must be current and in hand at time of submission
• Experience with Epic charting system
• Travel experience required; able to meet 50-mile travel requirement
• Valid 7-year work history verification
• Available for lab work within 3–5 days of signing

Onboarding

You will complete orientation modules through e-learning, averaging 1–5 hours per module. All certifications must be verified and current before your start date.
