Med Surg Registered Nurse Job in Utica, NY

MVHS Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Medical/Surgical position on a 64-bed Med Surg Stroke Stepdown unit in Utica, NY. You'll work 3 shifts per week, 12-hour nights from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.

About the Role

You'll care for adult patients across a range of common diagnoses, including stroke, altered mental status, renal conditions, dialysis, COPD, CHF, isolation cases, general medical-surgical conditions, pneumonia, and pulmonary issues. You'll operate specialty equipment including IV pumps, nasogastric tubes, and feeding tubes. Floating to other units is required as part of your assignment.

What You Bring

• Active New York RN license with NURSYS verification
• 2+ years of experience in Med Surg with stroke stepdown experience
• Travel healthcare experience
• EMR experience with EPIC
• Current AHA BLS certification
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale certification) — can be obtained prior to start if needed
• Skills checklist matching Med Surg specialty

Assignment Details

This is an 89-day travel assignment starting December 7, 2026. You'll earn $2,398 per week. Navy blue scrubs are required. Please note that block scheduling is never promised or guaranteed.
