PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Job Details:

• 13-week contract with 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Contract end day is Sunday, not Saturday
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• Float requirements include all inpatient units as needed, typically to higher acuity units
• May be subject to low census in hour increments, typically in 4-hour increments; unit may ask traveler to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift
• Patient ratio of 4:1 on a 36-bed Med Surg Intermediate Care unit with heavy telemetry
• Patient population includes stable/weaning vents/trach, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, TBI, ortho trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke
• Primary patients and insulin drips experience required
• Minimum 2+ years of experience required - firm requirement
• Stepdown, Intermediate, or PCU experience required
• ICU experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Ventilator and trach experience required
• At least 1 prior travel experience required
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• Required education: Associate Degree or Certificate
• Preferred education: Bachelor's Degree
• Scrub colors: any color
• Must be able to work independently, manage tasks in a fast-paced environment, and adapt well to change
• Contractors must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
