ED RN Job in Long Beach, CA

St Mary Medical Center Long Beach is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 9, 2026, at $2,064 weekly.

Shift and Schedule

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, evening shift (3x12)
• Every other weekend required
• Must be available for 2 of 3 major holidays, rotating with core staff
• Up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment may be canceled by the hospital

The Role

You will work in a Level 2 trauma center with a 26-bed emergency department and a 5-bed fast track area. Daily patient volume ranges from 40 to 160 patients. This facility is a STEMI and CVA receiving center.

Nurse-to-patient ratios are 3:1 or 4:1. You will independently read and interpret cardiac monitor strips—no monitor techs are available on site. You are responsible for all lab draws; there is no IV team. Ventilator experience is required. Common diagnoses include STEMI, CVA, trauma, and a full range of minor to critical complaints in adult and pediatric populations. No floating is required.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of previous emergency department experience
• Current ACLS, BLS (AHA), PALS, and NIHSS certifications
• BSN not required
• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-acuity environment

Charting system is Cerner FirstNet. Scrub color for RNs is Navy Blue. This position requires independent clinical judgment and strong assessment skills in a high-volume trauma setting.
