Opportunity:

RN - Acute Med Surg Acute Care

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend schedule required with rotation alongside permanent staff
• Patient ratio of 1:6 for both day and night shifts
• 14-bed acute medical surgical unit
• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required plus 1 travel assignment (no first-time travelers)
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• ACLS preferred
• Care for patients with diabetes, CHF, COPD, GI bleeds, renal failure, dialysis patients, post-surgical overflow, amputations, debridements, wound care, DVTs, ETOH, and psychiatric patients
• Administer medications including Lasix, Bumex, and Heparin
• Experience with CPAP and BiPAP (BiPAP only for night shifts)
• Nurses not required to read cardiac strips as monitoring is handled on different unit
• CNA support available with 1:12 ratio, may be pulled for 1:1 sitters
• Dress code: Caribbean Blue top and bottom, White top with Caribbean Blue bottom, or all white
• Use MEDITECH charting system
• Strict attendance policy enforced
• Polished nails only - no artificial or shellac nails due to CLABSI prevention
• No bags allowed at nurses station, lockers available with personal locks
• Must live outside 75-mile radius from facility
• 3-day orientation provided
• 12-hour cancellation policy every 2 weeks
• Must have experience at larger organization with high acuity, high turnover, and fast pace
