Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Oncology

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Patient population: Adults to Geriatrics
• Patient ratio: 1:6 with 19 beds and average daily census of 15
• Every other weekend required
• No call requirements
• Floating required within facility and possibly to a sister campus approximately 3 miles from main campus
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• Holiday coverage expected based on number of major holidays falling within assignment period
• Required certifications: BLS, OCN
• Chemo certifications (ONS, ONCC) required only if performing chemotherapy role
• Required charting systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Patient diagnoses include oncology diagnoses from diagnosis to death, hematology diagnoses, DNR/CC, and oncologic emergencies with occasional off-service assignments
• Skills required include chemo precautions, morphine drips, dilaudid drips, CADD pumps, and PCA pumps
• Special equipment: CADD, PCA, Sara Steady, Maxi Sky
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Accessing/managing ports, administration of blood and blood products, administration of chemotherapy, central line/implanted line care, and neutropenic precautions required
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Georgia or Compact nursing license required
