Med Surg RN Job in Albany, GA

You will work as an RN on a 14-bed acute medical-surgical unit at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA. This is a 168-week travel assignment beginning August 31, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• Weekly pay: $2,070

Unit Details

You will care for patients with diabetes, CHF, COPD, GI bleed, renal failure, dialysis, post-surgical overflow, amputations, debridements, wound care, DVTs, ETOH, and psychiatric conditions. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6 on days and nights. CNA support is available at a 1:12 ratio. A monitored unit on a different floor does not require nurses to read strips. You will float to all acute care, cardiology, and emergency care for acute patient holds as needed.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Administer medications including Lasix, Bumex, and Heparin
• Work in a primary care nursing model
• Chart using MEDITECH
• CPAP and BiPAP support available at night
• Shift handoff: 6:45–7:15 AM

Requirements

• Current RN license (state license must be submitted with application)
• 2 years of acute care experience in Med Surg specialty
• 1 prior travel assignment required
• Experience at a larger, high-acuity, fast-paced organization (no Critical Access Hospital experience)
• BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required
• ACLS preferred
• Comfort with high acuity, high turnover, and fast-paced environments
• Must reside within 75-mile radius; driver's license address will be verified

• Nails: polished only—no artificial, shellac, or acrylic
• No personal bags at the nurses station; lockers with personal locks provided

• Cancellation policy: 12 hours every 2 weeks
