PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Job Details:

• 13-week contract with an immediate start date
• 12-hour variable shifts rotating between days and nights, with shift rotation occurring every week or every two weeks
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• Float requirements include all inpatient units as needed, with potential to float to Wisconsin Rapids, Plover, and Divine Savior locations
• Can be placed on low census call, with a minimum call back of 2 hours
• Contract is eligible for 36 hours of unbillable low census hours
• Patient ratio of 4:1
• Work in a Med Surg Intermediate Care Unit with telemetry monitoring
• Patient population includes stable, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, TBI, orthopedic trauma, spinal cord injury, stroke, and primary patients on insulin drips
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Stepdown, Intermediate Care, or PCU required
• No new travelers - at least one completed contract required
• EPIC charting experience strongly preferred
• Must be a hard worker, resilient, manage change well, and work well socially
• Must be able to manage independently and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Required certifications: Wisconsin or compact RN license, BLS, ACLS (AHA or ARC certifications required)
