PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• 84 hours biweekly with a 72-hour guarantee
• Must agree to a 36/48-hour alternating schedule; facility may consider straight 48s
• Weekend shifts required as needed, which may include most weekends during the contract
• Block scheduling may be accommodated, but set schedules cannot be approved
• Float between Med Surg and PCU units as needed
• Patient ratios: 5 patients per nurse on days, 6 patients per nurse on nights
• Patients include adult and geriatric populations
• Patient diagnoses include MS/PCU overflow
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; travel experience required
• Epic charting experience strongly preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills include but are not limited to: cardiac telemetry, blood product administration, central line care/management, BiPAP/CPAP management, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, thrombolytic agents, tracheostomy care/management, wound care/wound vac, PICC line management, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
