Telemetry RN Job in Wilmington, NC

Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center Rapid Response is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Cardiac Telemetry unit. This is a 91-week travel assignment with 3x12-hour day shifts (6:45 AM to 7:15 PM), paying $1,972 weekly.

Role Overview

You will provide direct patient care on a cardiac telemetry unit serving adults and geriatrics. Your patient ratio is 1:6, varying by acuity. You will float as needed at unit discretion and work 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period. No call is required. You must be willing to work holidays, including 2 of 3 major holidays.

Experience & Certifications

You must have 2 years of cardiac experience. MS/Tele/Step-down experience is preferred. First-time travelers are accepted with 2 years of cardiac experience. Required certifications include BLS and ACLS. NIHSS certification is preferred. You must pass EKG testing prior to start date. Epic charting system experience is preferred.

Patient Population & Procedures

Common diagnoses include Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, Aortic Stenosis/Regurgitation, Mitral Regurgitation/Stenosis, Endocarditis, Cardiomyopathy, PVD, PAD, Vasculitis, Carotid Stenosis, and Venous Stasis. Special procedures include CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO (Watchman procedure), VATS, Carotid Endarterectomy, FEM-POP Bypass, Amputations, Cardiac Surgeries, Thoracic Surgeries, Post Cath, Post DCCV, Post Electrophysiology Procedures, and Pacemaker Placements.

Equipment & Systems

You will work with Doppler, Bladder Scanner, EKG, Femoral Sheaths, TR Band, Fem-Stop, Chest Tubes, and Epicardial Pacing Wires. Unit systems include Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR. Scrubs are navy blue pants and white top.

Time Off & Additional Notes

Maximum of 7 days of pre-approved RTO is allowed; no RTO during the first week and no additional RTO after signing. Contract staff may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty, or disaster situations as part of a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. 24 hours of unit orientation will be provided. Assignment start date is November 9, 2026.
