PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Job Details:

• 13-week contract with 12-hour variable shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM or 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend requirement with every other holiday rotation
• Float to all inpatient units as needed, typically to higher acuity units
• Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours, which can be applied in hourly increments as needed
• Work in a 36-bed Medical Surgical Intermediate Care unit with heavy telemetry monitoring
• Patient conditions include stable and weaning vents/trach, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, TBI, ortho trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke
• Manage primary patients and insulin drips with a 4:1 patient ratio
• Minimum 2+ years of experience required with Stepdown, Intermediate, or PCU experience required
• ICU experience preferred and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Ventilator and trach experience required
• At least 1 prior travel experience required
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS, and ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• Associate degree or certificate required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Scrub colors: any color
• Must be a hard worker who is resilient, manages change well, and can work independently in a fast-paced environment
