RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Current licensure in the state of Maine as a Registered Nurse or Compact licensure required
• Must be in good standing with the Board of Nursing
• BSN preferred
• BLS certification required within 60 days of hire and must be maintained throughout position
• 1 year of current hospital nursing experience preferred
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of orthopedic procedures, treatments, and use of equipment
• Demonstrate basic knowledge and care of oncology patients
• Ability to coordinate, organize, and prioritize complex multiple patient assignments
• Utilize evidence-based practice, accepted protocols, and nursing judgment to maintain standards for professional nursing practice
• Provide nursing care to patients in an efficient, professional, compassionate, and caring manner
• Implement nursing care of assigned patients via the Nursing Process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Direct activities of paraprofessional staff as they provide care
• Ensure effective communication with patients, support persons, and members of the healthcare team
• Demonstrate safe medication administration according to policy in a timely manner, and evaluate and document effectiveness
• Act in compliance with Nursing Department policies, procedures, and the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Maine
• EMR system: Paragon (training will be provided)
