ED RN Job in Saint Louis, MO

Mercy Hospital South in Saint Louis, MO is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week night shift assignment in their 61-bed Emergency Department. This is a direct patient care role working 3x12 nights (6:00 PM to 6:00 AM) with weekly guaranteed hours and no call requirements.

Position Details:

• Weekly pay: $2,102.40
• Start date: September 8, 2026
• Shift: 3x12 nights; weekend hours required every third weekend
• Patient ratio: 1:4
• EMR system: EPIC
• Float to similar or lower acuity units as needed

Qualifications Required:

• Current RN license or eligibility for Missouri licensure
• Minimum 2 years of ED and trauma experience (inpatient only)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA only), NIHSS, and TNCC certifications

Role Responsibilities:

You will provide direct patient care across all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will utilize the nursing process to care for post-trauma patients, those recovering from surgical interventions, and those with medical comorbidities. You will monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments while maintaining professional accountability for patient care and confidentiality.

Physical and Environmental Demands:

This role involves standing and walking most of the time, with frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance. You will push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. and pinch up to 15 lbs. Minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling are required. You will have high-risk exposure to blood and body fluids. Black scrubs are required.

Orientation:

Night shift staff orient on day shift. You must be available for the entire orientation week before transitioning to your night shift schedule.
