Emergency Department RN Job in Independence, MO

Join Centerpoint Medical Center MO as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. This is a travel position offering competitive weekly pay of $2,360, with a 91-day assignment beginning September 28, 2026.

Role Overview

You will work in a 40+ bed Emergency Department on a 4x12 night shift schedule (7 PM–7 AM). The department operates with a 4:1 patient ratio, where you may manage 3 rooms and 1 hall bed during high-volume situations. A guaranteed 48-hour weekly option is available.

Responsibilities

• Perform IV starts and phlebotomy
• Conduct cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Operate cardiac monitors, EKGs, ultrasound units, Belmont Rapid Infuser, IO Drills, and Lifepak defibrillators
• Document patient care using the Meditech EMR system
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Clinical Nurse Coordinators, Team Leads, Advanced Paramedics, Emergency Department Technicians, Mental Health Support Clinicians, and Secretaries

Requirements

You must hold an active RN license and maintain current certifications in BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, and CPI. Strong adaptability and team player qualities are essential for success in this high-pressure environment. Previous medical experience is preferred.

Work Environment

Dress code includes a gray scrub top with black or gray scrub bottoms. Appropriately colored T-shirts are permitted under a nursing scrub jacket or hospital-approved jacket. You will work in a fast-paced setting alongside experienced nursing and clinical staff.
