ED RN Job in Kansas City, MO

Research Medical Center MO is seeking an RN for the Emergency Department on a 91-day travel assignment. You'll work 4x12 night shifts (7 PM–7 AM) at $2,360 weekly, with a start date of September 28, 2026.

Role Overview

You'll provide direct patient care in a 38-bed ED split across three main areas: Rapid, Main, and POD 3 (a psych-safe zone). The department operates with day and night shifts, plus mid-shift RN coverage for continuity. Your responsibilities include:

• Managing acute and emergent patient conditions
• Operating and monitoring equipment: ventilators, BiPAP, EKG systems, arterial lines, Belmont infusers, and chest tubes
• Performing procedures such as port placement and chest tube management
• De-escalating and prioritizing across a dynamic patient load
• Documenting in Meditech EMR

Schedule & Staffing Commitment

Minimum requirements per 4-week cycle include 4 weekend shifts, 2 Friday shifts, and observance of 2 major holidays plus 2 minor holidays. Floating to Brookside ED may be required. A 48-hour guaranteed minimum is available as an option.

Requirements & Skills

You hold a current RN license. CPI certification is preferred. Ideal candidates bring strong time management, prioritization, and de-escalation skills. You are patient-focused, detail-oriented, collaborative, and coachable—qualities essential in high-acuity emergency settings.
