ED RN Job in Kansas City, MO

Join Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO as a Travel RN in the Emergency Department. This 91-day assignment begins September 28, 2026, and offers 4x12 night shifts with weekly pay of $2,360.

Role Overview

You will work in a 38-bed Emergency Department organized into three main areas: Rapid, Main, and POD 3 (a psych-safe area). The ED operates with 7 RNs per day and night shift, plus 5 mid-shift RNs. Night shift positions involve 7 consecutive nights per schedule cycle, with float coverage to Brookside ED as needed.

Schedule Requirements

• 4x12 night shifts
• 48 hours guaranteed per week is an option
• 4 weekend shifts and 2 Fridays minimum per 4-week schedule
• 2 major holidays and 2 minor holidays required

Clinical Responsibilities

You will manage patients requiring advanced equipment and interventions, including ventilators, BiPAP, EKG monitoring, arterial lines, Belmont infusers, and chest tubes. Procedures include port placement and chest tube management. The ED uses Meditech as its electronic medical record system.

Key Qualifications

You must demonstrate strong prioritization, time management, and de-escalation skills in a fast-paced environment. Patient focus, attention to detail, teamwork, and coachability are essential. CPI certification is preferred. Navy blue scrubs are required.
