Respiratory Therapist - Registered Respiratory Therapist

Job Details:

• Outpatient RRT position requiring pediatric experience (NICU experience not required)
• RRT credential required; CRTs will not be accepted
• Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) experience required
• Float to all outpatient facilities
• Provide cardiopulmonary function testing for patients from newborn to 21 years of age
• Independently perform procedures per national and departmental standards including spirometry, plethysmography, diffusing capacity (DLCO), simple pulmonary stress test (6-minute walk), exhaled nitric oxide testing, metabolic testing, impulse oscillometry (IOS) airway resistance, aerosolized pentamidine therapy, methacholine challenge, and nitrogen washout
• Provide non-critical respiratory care including patient assessment, aerosol therapy, patient education, equipment management, and airway assessment and management
• Monitor and address learning needs and comprehension of patients and families regarding treatment and testing
• Participate in care planning and implementation and suggest alternatives leading to desired clinical outcomes
• May serve as departmental team leader overseeing day-to-day operations of designated clinical area
• Minimum 3 years of experience required
• Travel experience required
• Epic EMR charting system experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, RPFT, RRT, PALS (AHA Only)
• Required skills: Lung Volume - Nitrogen Washout, Nitric Oxide (INo), Pediatrics, Spirometry, Stress Test Administration
• Must successfully pass Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher rating
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills required
• Must be able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Patient age groups include adolescents, infants, and pediatrics
