PCU RN Job in Hermitage, TN

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, Tennessee. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning October 19, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• Three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Weekly pay: $1,898

Patient Care

You will manage patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6 on nights. Your responsibilities include hourly documentation, every 2-hour patient rounding, and AIDET patient experience protocols. You may float between PCU units or to medical-surgical floors as needed.

Clinical Skills and Experience Required

• BLS and ACLS certification
• Critical thinking and EKG rhythm interpretation
• Cardiac drip, insulin drip, and heparin drip management
• Peripheral IV insertion
• BiPAP and high-flow oxygen delivery systems
• Stroke and post-cardiac catheterization care
• Tube feedings, NG tube, and Dobhoff tube placement

Procedures and Equipment

You will work with peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, central line dressing changes, and wound vac troubleshooting. Equipment includes BiPAPs, high-flow O₂, Vapotherm, Alaris pumps, and peritoneal dialysis units. Peritoneal dialysis experience is preferred.

Work Environment

Documentation occurs in Meditech. The unit offers self-scheduling with 4-week schedules. Black scrubs are required. You will work in a collaborative team-based environment with access to nursing leadership and continuing education opportunities.

You must have a valid RN license and be eligible to work in Tennessee.
