CVOR Technologist Job in Pittsburgh, PA

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Surgical Tech to join the cardiothoracic operating room team at Southwest - UPMC Presbyterian/Montefiore in Pittsburgh, PA. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning October 11, 2026.

Assignment Details:

• Schedule: 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts
• Weekly pay: $2,563
• Duration: 91 days
• Start date: October 11, 2026

Your Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions before each procedure
• Assemble both sterile and non-sterile equipment and verify proper functioning prior to surgery
• Prepare patients for surgery including washing, shaving, and ensuring aseptic incision sites
• Assist the surgical team with donning sterile gowns and gloves
• Pass instruments and sterile supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants during procedures
• Hold retractors or instruments, cut sutures, sponge or suction the operative site under surgeon supervision
• Count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments throughout surgical procedures
• Assist in preparation, care for, and disposal of specimens taken for laboratory analysis
• Ensure all medications are properly labeled and distributed to nurses per established policies and procedures
• Assist with patient transfer to recovery room
• Clean and restock the operating room after surgery
• Maintain a clean and safe environment through continued alertness to safety hazards and aseptic technique

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of surgical tech experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TSC) certification
• Compliance with PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, and PA Act 73
• Meet PA legislative requirements per House Bill 81 enacted 12/27/2020 for surgical technologist qualifications
