CVOR Technologist Job in Altoona, PA

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Surgical Tech to join West Central – UPMC Altoona for a 90-day travel assignment. You will work 5 days per week on day shift, earning $2,821 weekly.

In this role, you will prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions before procedures begin. You will assemble both sterile and non-sterile equipment, verify proper functionality, and prepare patients for surgery through washing, shaving, and ensuring aseptic incision sites. You will assist with patient transport to the operating room and proper positioning on the surgical table.

During procedures, you will:

• Assist surgical team members with sterile gowns and gloves
• Efficiently pass instruments and sterile supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants
• Hold retractors or instruments, cut sutures, and sponge or suction the operative site under surgeon supervision
• Count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments throughout procedures to maintain accountability
• Assist in preparation, care, and disposal of specimens taken for laboratory analysis
• Ensure all medications are properly labeled and distributed per established policies

After surgery, you will assist with patient transfer to the recovery room, then clean and restock the operating room. Throughout your assignment, you will maintain a clean and safe environment through continued alertness to safety hazards and proper aseptic technique.

Requirements: Minimum 2 years of surgical technology experience. You must hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and either Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TSC) credentials. You must comply with PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, and PA Act 73 requirements, as well as PA legislative requirements for surgical technologists per House Bill 81.
