CVOR Technologist Job in Erie, PA

You will work as a Surgical Technologist in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) at Northwest — UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 27, 2026, with a 4x10 schedule (4 days per week, 10 hours per day). You will earn $2,821 per week.

Your responsibilities include:

• Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions before operations
• Assemble and check both sterile and non-sterile equipment to ensure proper working order
• Prepare patients for surgery including washing, shaving, and ensuring aseptic incision sites
• Transport patients to the operating room, assist with positioning on the operating table, and cover with sterile surgical drapes
• Assist surgical team members with putting on sterile gowns and gloves
• Efficiently pass instruments and other sterile supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants during surgery
• Hold retractors or instruments, cut sutures, sponge or suction the operative site under surgeon supervision
• Help count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments during procedures
• Assist in preparation, care for, and disposal of specimens taken for laboratory analysis
• Ensure all medications are labeled and handed to surgeon according to established policies and procedures
• Assist with patient transfer to recovery room and clean and restock the operating room after surgery
• Maintain a clean and safe environment through continued alertness to safety and aseptic technique

Minimum Requirements: A minimum of 2 years of surgical tech experience is required. You must hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TSC) credential, and PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, and PA Act 73 certifications. You must also meet PA legislature House Bill 81 education and knowledge requirements enacted December 27, 2020.
