Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• 3x12 night shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratio of 1:4 on nights and 1:3 on days and weekends
• Must be able to manage a 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio for MedSurg
• Float to ICU or Medical-Surgical unit required
• 1 year of experience required, 2 years preferred
• Travel experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Must be located more than 75 miles from the facility
• NY nursing license required in hand at time of submission - no exceptions
• Epic charting experience is a hard requirement
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Scrub color: Any combination of navy and white
• Care for adult and geriatric patients in a critical care step-down unit
• Provide care for patients requiring continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring
• Manage patients with airway management needs, acute BiPAP support, arterial lines, and central lines
• Administer and manage titrated medicated IV infusions
• Skills include: telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of rapid response/code teams, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care and management, cardiac drip management, oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care and management, continuous bladder irrigation, pre/post hemodialysis management, arterial line management, phlebotomy, PICC line management, heparin protocols, vasoactive drip management, PCA, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, thrombolytic agents, seizure disorders, substance withdrawal, traumatic brain injury, care of ventilated patients, chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation of arterial blood gases, tracheostomy care and management, and wound care/wound vac
