Med Surg RN Job in Rochester, NY

You will work as an RN in a specialized Medical-Surgical unit at URMC Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. This is a unique specialty unit—one of only a handful in the country—where you care for adult medical and surgical patients with active co-morbid psychiatric and behavioral issues. Your clinical skills in both medicine/surgery and psychiatry will be essential to this role.

Your Responsibilities

• Care for adult medical/surgical patients with complex psychiatric and behavioral needs
• Work rotating day, evening, and night shifts on a 12-hour schedule
• Accept weekend, holiday, on-call, and callback responsibilities as needed
• Assume charge responsibilities per unit needs
• Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to work with a varied patient population in a changing environment
• Up to 48 hours per week may be billed at regular time

Your Qualifications

• Current New York RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience
• Psychology or psychiatric nursing experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
