About this role

Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. is seeking a registered nurse (RN) for a Med Surg position in Lexington, Kentucky. This is a 12-hour shift role running from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, working 3 shifts per week. The assignment is 89 weeks, beginning October 5, 2026. You will earn $2,202 weekly.

You will implement professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person, focused on healing and wellness. Your responsibilities include:

  • Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice
  • Consider patient culture, age, and developmental level when designing care actions and interventions
  • Identify patient risk factors and collect objective and subjective data from patients and families
  • Develop problem lists and prioritize patient needs based on input from the inter-professional team
  • Determine desired outcomes in coordination with patient and family in accordance with the medical plan of care
  • Explain procedures, treatments, and processes to patients and families
  • Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately
  • Conduct and document ongoing assessments and responses to procedures and therapies using the nursing process
  • Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members in the performance of patient care activities
  • Identify and address educational needs of patients related to prioritized problems
  • Facilitate the patient discharge process by executing discharge orders in a timely manner and coordinating with Case Management
  • Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction
  • Promote a positive group dynamic and healing environment through words and actions

You will be required to work weekends and holidays as needed by the department. This position offers the opportunity to deliver direct patient care in a collaborative healthcare environment.
