About this role

Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. is seeking a registered nurse for our Med Surg unit in Lexington, KY. This is an 89-day travel assignment with a start date of October 5, 2026.

Position Details:

  • 8-hour shifts, 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • 3 shifts per week required
  • Weekend and holiday work as needed by the department
  • Weekly pay: $2,545.60

Your Responsibilities:

  • Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments within your RN scope of practice
  • Consider patient culture, age, and developmental level when planning care interventions
  • Identify patient risk factors and presenting complaints
  • Collect objective and subjective data; obtain patient health information from family or others as necessary
  • Develop and prioritize patient problem lists based on input from the interprofessional team
  • Determine desired outcomes in coordination with patient and family in accordance with the medical plan of care
  • Implement patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within your scope of practice
  • Explain procedures, treatments, and processes to patients and families
  • Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately
  • Conduct and document ongoing assessments and responses to procedures and therapies using the nursing process
  • Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members in the performance of patient care activities
  • Monitor accuracy and completeness of delegated patient care provided by other team members
  • Identify and address educational needs of patients related to prioritized problems
  • Facilitate patient discharge process by executing discharge orders in a timely manner and coordinating with Case Management
  • Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, patient falls, pressure ulcers, CAUTIs, and documentation auditing
  • Promote a positive group dynamic and healing environment through words and actions
