Med Surg RN Job in Lexington, KY

Join Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. in Lexington, KY as a Med Surg RN. You'll work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, three shifts per week on a schedule that includes weekends and holidays. This is an 89-week travel assignment starting October 5, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,175.

Your Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments within RN scope of practice, considering patient culture, age, and developmental level
• Identify patient risk factors and presenting complaints; collect objective and subjective data to verify initial admission assessments
• Develop and prioritize patient problem lists in collaboration with the inter-professional team
• Design care actions and interventions tailored to patient culture and age
• Determine desired outcomes in coordination with patient and family per the medical plan of care
• Implement patient care therapies and procedures within scope of practice
• Explain procedures, treatments, and processes to patients and families in clear, understandable terms
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately
• Conduct and document ongoing assessments and responses to procedures and therapies
• Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members in patient care activities
• Identify and address patient educational needs based on comprehension level
• Facilitate the patient discharge process, including discharge teaching and care coordination
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures
• Promote a positive group dynamic and healing environment through words and actions
• Apply a holistic perspective when delivering patient care
