About this role

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in Medical-Surgical nursing at Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. in Lexington, Kentucky. This is a 12-hour night shift position (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM), with 3 shifts per week required. You'll be expected to work weekends and holidays as department needs dictate. The assignment runs 89 weeks, with a start date of October 5, 2026. Your weekly pay is $1,427.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice
  • Collect objective and subjective data; obtain patient health information from family or others as necessary
  • Consider patient culture, age, and developmental level when designing care actions and interventions
  • Identify patient risk factors and presenting complaints
  • Develop prioritized problem lists based on input from the inter-professional team
  • Determine desired outcomes in coordination with patient and family in accordance with medical plan of care
  • Implement patient care therapies and procedures within scope of practice
  • Explain procedures, treatments, and processes to patients and families
  • Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately
  • Conduct and document ongoing assessments and responses to procedures and therapies
  • Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members in the performance of patient care activities
  • Identify and address educational needs of patients related to prioritized problems
  • Facilitate patient discharge process including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
  • Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring
  • Promote a positive group dynamic and healing environment through words and actions
  • Apply evidence-based practice, current research, and caring philosophy to ensure nursing excellence
