ED RN Job in Merced, CA

Mercy Medical Center Merced is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 33-bed Emergency Room. You will work three 12-hour day shifts per week, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, at $2,020 weekly pay. This is a 126-week travel assignment beginning November 9, 2026.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with a 1:4 patient ratio, averaging 210 patients seen per shift
• Manage 25 cardiac monitor-equipped patient care rooms and 2 triage bays
• Document thoroughly and accurately in the Cerner EMR system
• Collaborate with ER Techs (EMT, MA, or CNA credentialed) for tech duties and EKGs
• Work with on-site Respiratory Therapy for ventilator management
• Access 24/7 Pharmacy support with Omnicell medication dispensing
• Support a 24/7 Charge Nurse and charge-backed leadership

Scheduling and Requirements

• Unit uses self-scheduling with scheduler rebalancing rights; individual requests cannot be guaranteed
• Two weekends required per every 4-week period
• Holiday coverage required as needed (2 out of 3 holidays)
• No floating outside the ER
• Up to 6 shifts of floor-specific orientation with a preceptor

Patient Population and Facility Details

• Routine and typical ER patient volume; STEMIs, hemorrhagic strokes, and pediatric cases are transferred to higher levels of care
• Facility is stroke certified and serves as the base hospital for EMS
• GE telemetry monitoring with central monitor stations at both nurses stations

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Cerner EMR experience required; note on your resume which facility you used Cerner at
• ACLS certification (AHA)
• BLS certification (AHA)
• NIHSS certification
• Strong documentation skills

Dress Code

Navy blue scrubs, jackets, and undershirts. White or black undershirts are also permitted.
