Med Surg RN Job in Utica, NY

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is recruiting a Registered Nurse for a Med Surg Stroke Stepdown assignment in Utica, NY. This is a travel position running 89 days, starting July 27, 2026.

Position Details

• Specialty: Medical / Surgical Stroke Stepdown Unit (64 beds)
• Shift: 3x12 nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Weekly pay: $2,309.75
• Scrub color: Navy Blue

Your Responsibilities

You will care for adult patients across a range of common diagnoses, including stroke, altered mental status, renal and dialysis patients, COPD, congestive heart failure, isolation cases, general medical and surgical conditions, pneumonia, and pulmonary issues. You will operate specialty equipment including IV pumps, nasogastric tubes, and feeding tubes. Floating to other units is required, and block scheduling is not guaranteed.

Requirements

• Active New York RN license with NURSYS verification
• Minimum 2+ years of Med Surg experience with stroke stepdown experience
• Travel healthcare experience required
• EMR experience with EPIC required
• Current AHA BLS certification
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification required for this unit; can be obtained prior to start
• Skills checklist matching specialty required at submission
• RTO (Return to Origin) information must be included with application
