ICU - Intensive Care Unit

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Stepdown ICU unit caring for low acuity ICU patients and high acuity telemetry patients, excluding ventilated patients
• Schedule is 3x12-hour shifts with possibility of 48-hour shifts
• On-call required once every 6 weeks
• 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
• Self-scheduling
• Patient ratio of 1:3 for days, nights, and weekends
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Unit features in-room continuous cardiac and vital sign monitoring
• Manage cardiac IV infusions including Levophed, Cardene, Neosynephrine, and Insulin drips requiring frequent titrations and continuous monitoring
• Care for patients post-TNK administration requiring frequent neurological assessments, high O2 requirements, pericardial drains, temporary pacemakers, STEMI post cath, EKOS treatment for DVT, and snakebite post-antivenom administration
• RN-driven patient care with PCT support; independently consult with medical management team regarding changes in patient condition
• Interdisciplinary support includes IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required; 2 years preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred
• Altera charting experience preferred, not required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills include arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, central line care, titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips, tracheostomy care, and telemetry monitoring among others
