Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Orthopedic/Neuro

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (day or night shifts available)
• 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week with open to 48-hour contract
• Every other weekend required - nights rotate Friday/Saturday/Sunday, days rotate Saturday/Sunday
• Rotating holidays required based on unit needs
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 for both shifts
• 21-bed unit with 7 private rooms and 7 semi-private rooms
• Telemetry monitored remotely - must have basic arrhythmia knowledge and ability to recognize fatal rhythms
• IV drips limited to Heparin or Protonix - no titrating or cardiac drips
• Ventilator experience required: BiPAP, CPAP, and High Flow
• Charting via EPIC EMR system
• IV access using B-Braun equipment - no IV team on unit
• Common diagnoses include total joint replacements, spinal procedures, occasional burr holes, seizures, craniotomies, brain stimulation, traction for hips, Buck's traction, and Med-Surg overflow patients
• Float to any Med-Surg unit as needed (no floating to ED or Behavioral Health)
• One shift orientation with a preceptor including Net Learning Modules and EPIC training
• Schedule requests entered in Kronos at least 2 weeks in advance for 4-week blocks - block scheduling available if included in contract
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs, navy or white jacket, white or navy undershirt, natural hair color only, excessive or distasteful tattoos must be covered
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS; ACLS preferred
• BSN not required
• Must have 2 years of nursing experience
• Driver's license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility
