Med Surg RN Job in Akron, OH

You will work as a Med Surg RN at Akron Campus in Akron, OH. This is a travel position running 91 days, starting November 1, 2026. You will work the night shift, three 12-hour shifts per week, earning $2,364 weekly.

Your Role

You will provide direct nursing care to geriatric patients aged 65 and older in an acute care setting. As a float position, you will care for overflow medical and surgical patients across units as needed. Your patient ratios will range from 1:5 to 1:6.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver 24-hour, 7-day-a-week nursing care to patients requiring inpatient acute care or close observation and testing
• Manage patients presenting with a variety of medical diagnoses, including GIB, UTI, trauma, infection, pneumonia, CHF, change in mental status, and failure to thrive
• Apply the 4Ms framework (What Matters, Medication, Mentation, and Mobility) to guide interdisciplinary patient care
• Focus on preventing functional decline while addressing acute medical needs in older adult patients
• Draw blood and maintain IV access as needed

Required Qualifications

• RN with an accredited nursing degree through ACEN or CCNE
• Minimum 2 or more years of recent Med Surg experience
• Epic experience within the last 12 months
• Phlebotomy experience within the last 12 months
• BLS certification
• Ability to draw and maintain IVs

Assignment Details

A maximum of 7 days of RTO (requested time off) is accepted during this 91-day assignment. No RTO will be approved during the first two weeks. Block scheduling is not accepted. Interviews are required—please provide available dates and times when you submit your application.
